People do crazy things for the people they love, and Valentine’s Day is the craziest of all. Some shower their loved ones in cards and gifts, others find a nice secluded spot with a view and some gun down seven men in a gritty 1920’s Chicago (here’s looking at you, Al Capone). The point is, we all like to make an effort to show we care.
We care so much, in fact, that now we spend almost £1billion collectively as a country just to celebrate a man who used to marry soldiers (St Valentinus, for all you history buffs) – and that’s a lot of cash for just a third of the population who actually celebrate the occasion.
With that in mind, the country is running out of ideas to show just how much we care, so if you’re stuck on what to do this Valentine’s day, we’ve made your Essential List so you don’t have to worry.
The Classic Romantic Meal: Las Iguanas
Bring some Latin American passion to your Valentine’s Day with the Las Iguanas special. When you book a table between February 12th and 14th you will receive a free glass of prosecco on arrival. And with its central Liverpool One location, you won’t be short on things to do after.
The Hotel: Titanic Hotel
The Titanic Hotel’s ‘Love on the Docks’ night promises to keep you in the good books with an overnight stay in one of their Superior Rooms containing a deluxe double bed, flat screen TV and luxurious toiletries.
The Movie: Woolton Picture House Cinema
A Valentine’s Day classic, taking your special someone to see a movie. So where better than Liverpool’s most classic cinema, the Woolton Picture House. A special 7.30 viewing of Fifty Shades Freed is sure to spark romance and with the cinemas ideal Woolton village location you could share a drink in the nearby Elephant after.
The Cheap & Cheerful: Sefton Park
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be an expensive affair, and you shouldn’t be short on inspiration if you’re not looking to break the bank.
Our best advice for you is to take a romantic walk through Sefton Park. You can see their Grade 1 listed Palm House, their picturesque lake or walk around the Victorian carousel. It may sound cheesy, but isn’t that the point?
The Wild Card: Ghetto Golf
Why not try something new this year? Ditch the flowers and chocolate and grab a golf club instead.
Make this a Valentines to remember and try your hand at mini-golf, taste some delicious cocktails, bounce of the walls to live DJ’s and immerse yourself in some seriously wicked street art all in one place.
The Gift: Your Flower Company
Name a more iconic duo than Valentine’s Day and roses. Luckily, Your Flower Company has you covered. Whether you want one or 500 you can order them there, and it doesn’t just have to be roses.
Make sure you order between the 2nd and the 9th February to receive a 20% discount courtesy of yours truly. Just make sure you quote ‘Love’ to receive your discount.
