On the ground floor, there’s a variety of out-of-this-world exhibitions that make learning about our galaxy and beyond heaps of fun. The Planetarium is a must visit– a 360-degree dome which is currently showing the 25-minute Astronaut show.
Take a ride on the Explorer 1 Space Ride too – themed about cosmic coasters it’s a thrill-seeking white knuckle simulator experience.
Upstairs you’ll find the brand new Interactive Zone, full of hands-on exhibits that explain the role of gravity and light in space. Get to grips with optical illusions and visual tricks in our ‘See the Light’ exhibits. Then ‘Feel the Force’ in the other part of the Interactive Zone – test gravity, explore magnetic fields and witness the power of the vortex.
And there’s plenty more fun to be had; ‘Play the Wall’ is an interactive fun game where you jump and swipe at objects in the variety of themed games. Plus there’s the Hurricane Simulator – experience the force of hurricane winds in total safety.
Don’t forget about the gaming zone which includes a hands-free Xbox amongst other video games - all great ways to keep the kids entertained. With comfortable seating upstairs too, parents can kick back and relax whilst the youngsters enjoy the fun of the Interactive Zone.
