Woolton Picture House is a truly unique cinema, located in the heart of picturesque Woolton Village, Liverpool since 1927.

Woolton Picture House cinema is featured in the 'Reel Stories: Liverpool and the Silver Screen' exhibition within the Liverpool Museum! The exhibition celebrates Liverpool’s starring role in films over the past 60 years! This enchanting cinema embraces the breath-taking period features that surround it complete with a traditional art deco auditorium.

This amazing single screen picture house hosts 256 classic Pullman armchairs offering an exclusive, original cinematic experience, in a comfortable and cosy environment, that allows you to unwind and immerse yourself in your favourite film. Each chair still features an ashtray on the back of the seat in front- smoking is strictly prohibited, of course, but it’s just a present reminder of how steeped in history this cinema really is.
But the best, and most important thing about the cinema is the interludes. Halfway through every movie they close the curtains just when there is a lull, the lights come n and you have a chance to go to the toilet without missing any of the movie. And, most importantly, they serve ice-cream and ice-lollies just in-case you’ve ran out of treats from the start of the show.

You can hire the place out for parties and other functions, if your heart desires.
