The TV show itself is a gangster drama set in the streets of Birmingham in the early 1920s. However many scenes were filmed in Liverpool, with locations like Rodney Street and Stanley Dock making appearances throughout the series.
The team behind the venture also own a similar establishment in Southport, but the Liverpool version is much larger and has two floors.
The project has involved the restoration of a dilapidated Grade 2 listed premises dating back to the 19th century. Peaky Blinders styled décor features throughout, with large images of the main characters dominating the walls and iconic features from the show being replicated.
The owners said “We had always wanted to open a bar and when we first saw Peaky Blinders we just loved the feel-good factor of the period and the music. When customers walk into we want them to feel the same ambience. “The public reaction to this one in Liverpool has been amazing. It’s outstanding, frightening, exciting – it’s just everything that we hoped for. Everyone’s very excited.”
