Remember ‘Whose line is it anyway’? Liverpool Comedy Improv is a successful improv centre in Liverpool for anyone who wants to explore comedy improvisation.
All levels of experience are welcome, but it is particularly suited to those who have never done improv before (making scenes up spontaneously without a script…and having a laugh…). The principles that underpin improv are explored, such as playfulness, listening, accepting ideas, co-creating scenes together, character development and lots and lots of funny short form games!
Liverpool Comedy Improv sessions are led by Emma Bird:
As an actor Emma has worked in theatres such as The National Theatre, Hampstead Theatre and Norwich Playhouse. She was a regular character in BBC TV’s Casualty. She has worked with writers such as Jimmy McGovern and worked alongside Pete Postlethwaite, Frances de La Tour, and David Morrissey and co-starred in a feature film alongside Minnie Driver.
Emma created Liverpool Comedy Improv in 2015. She founded and performs with Liverpool Comedy Improv Actors Troupe ‘THE UNSCRIPTABLES’ who regularly rehearse and perform in the North West. She co-founded The Hee Ha’s, an improv troupe in Brighton in 2009.
Many people who have attended were tentative at first, but all have left with fantastic memories of great experiences with lots of deep belly laughs in the process.
