The Grand National Steeplechase saw Aintree Racecourse as it’s home since all the way back to 1836, and with 16 fences, it is regarded as one of the most famous races around the world. Set in picturesque, green surroundings there's nowhere quite like Aintree Racecourse. Steeped in history, drama, triumph and achievement, it is simply unique.
The Grand National Steeplechase has seen the likes of Red Rum, has witnessed the performances of Michael Jackson, McFly, P!nk and the Kaiser Chiefs and has a nine-hole golf course within its boundaries. So it’s no ordinary race track.
The three big days that Aintree Racecourse sees every year are Grand National Thursday, Ladies Day and the Grand National all in the space of one weekend. Over 150,000 people descend on Liverpool over the course of the three-day event and it is watched by over 600 million people! Yes, you read that right.
Tickets are incredibly hard to get for this weekend of lucrative events so try to book them as early as possible or you’ll be sure to miss out - and remember the dress code is formal.
Aintree racecourse also hosts 5five race days, outside the Randox Health National Festival, as well as conference and event facilities for up to 3000 delegates. Aintree Racecourse is also available to hire for celebrations and hosts amazing seasonal events. So be sure to find something, as this old racetrack really is a must-see.
